These are the dogs who are actively competing in the show ring pursing a championship title (and possibly picking up some other titles along the way). To earn an AKC championship a dog must earn 15 points under 3 different judges. There must be 2 'major' wins, which are wins that qualify for 3-5 points. The number of points won depends on the number of dogs beaten. The larger number of dogs, the higher the points up to a maximum of 5 points per show. A point schedule is calculated every year by the AKC based on the number of that specific breed competing within the area. More dogs competing in your area, means you have to beat a larger number of dogs to earn each point.
Gateside Mandalay Come Fly Away, CGC, TDN FDC (Chickadee) pointed
A darling tri rough puppy bitch that my daughter HAD to have. A full sister to Scarlett and Rhett born a year later.. She has so much attitude!
Ring debut done in style- all the way to BOV from the 6-9 class. Additional points from the 6-9 and 9-12 classes.
Chickadee is always handled by my daughter who has put almost all of her points on her by herself. She is primarily her 4H dog and companion. She will occasionally be seen at performance events now but spends most of her time imitating a rug on the floor while supervising teenage girl phone time and wardrobe changes.
Chickadee is MDR1 M/M, PRA clear, CEA mild.

BISS Gateside Mandalay It's Elementary My Dear (Holmes) Pointed
I didn't want a rough puppy. I didn't want a boy puppy. I wanted a smooth tri female puppy. Holmes couldn't be denied. A beautiful, happy puppy, I can't wait to take him out in 2022. He saw 2 shows in 2021, one as a 4-6 month puppy and another in the 6-9 where he picked up his first point.
He won Best in Match at both the CC of NH and CC of NE matches in 2021. Below is Holmes at 18 months, au natural and just coming back into coat. Yes, his tail is wagging....it never stops! Homes picked up his first specialty major going WD/BOW/BOV/BOB!! |
Gateside Mandalay Turnberry Snow and Tell, FDC, TKN, RN (Freya)
Finally a smooth tri girl! Born in Jan of 2022 Freya is a puppy back from a stud fee courtesy of Turnberry Collies. She is game for anything, full of confidence and go get 'em attitude. Freya went reserve at her first real dog show. She's showing a lot of potential as a sport dog and easily picked up her first title in Oct of 2022. Freya picked up the first legs for her RN and BN at 12 months with scores in the high 90s and class placements (including a first). Then took a break to go play show dog in Florida where they have lovely outside shows in Nov and Dec!
