Trinity x Tyson
We are expecting one last litter for 2016. It has been a busy year for us, but small litter sizes coupled with the ages of couple of our girls (they deserve to retire) lead us to undertake one more litter. Trinity is in whelp to Tyson. It is his first litter and we are anxious to see what he can produce. We are expecting sable and sable merle puppies in rough and smooth. Puppies will be MDR1 N/N and M/N and PRA clear. Trinity's litter brother, her father and Tyson's father all have OFA hips excellent. This is Trinity's last litter. She has given us so much and is retiring this winter to a loving family with a soft couch. We will miss her greatly, but we see her in the faces of her puppies Jade and Arya and now also in her grandpuppy Walker.
There are no puppies available from this litter.

They're Here!
Born 10/12/17. Sable rough bitch, sable smooth bitch, sable merle smooth bitch, a sable smooth dog and sable merle rough dog. Interestingly this is the exact date that Trinity whelped her previous (second) litter last year. Happy birthday to big brothers/sisters Arya, Jordy, Fenix, Autumn, Penny and Sessily.
Week 1
Everyone doubled in weight by 7 days. These are some fast growing puppies! Usually they don't double until 10-12 days on my litters. We lost a little 5oz sable smooth male on day 5. In spite of supportive care, he spiked a fever and didn't make it. Eyes are starting to crack open at the corners (again early for one of my litters) and puppies have been doing neurostim and had their first nail trims. 1/4 of this pedigree is new for us, so it is interesting to see how development is different already. We are anxious to see if the sable merles have brown or blue eyes.
Week Two
This week we have our first nail trim, deworming and eyes are starting to open. They are hearing noises and react to us outside the whelping box. Neuro stimulation is going well. Trinity is such a gentle mom. Can't wait to find out eye color on our sable merles. They have officially been given their 'baby' names. The two legged kids here are going through a Greek mythology phase, so the puppies are Iris-SM girl, Aphrodite- Sable rough girl, Artemis- sable smooth girl and last but certainly not least the sable merle rough boy- Poseidon or Puppyseidon to his friends.
Week Three
Lots of handling this week and puppies meet their first strangers. Visitors at this age are people Trinity knows, but are new to the puppies. It looks like the Iris has one blue and one brown and Poseidon has two blue eyes.
Week Four
Another deworming and nail trims again. Trinity says it is time to wean these puppies! She started regurgitating her food for them. She is the only mom I have ever had that does that. I think she has done more than enough and we have started puppies on mush, so she can keep down her dinner. They had no trouble with that first meal! By the end of the week they will be fully weaned.
Week 5 and 6
With the craziness of holidays I got off track on posting updates. Puppies are growing like weeds and are eating dry puppy food 3 times a day. First trip outside, the tippy board, the puppy enrichment center, a visit to the grooming room, first vaccines and microchips has made it a busy two weeks. The only puppy still available is Poseidon- the sable merle rough male. He has two blue eyes that remind us of the ocean. It has been raining almost nonstop for the last 2 weeks. I did manage to get a couple photo of their first trip outside. The lighting wasn't good because it was early morning and they were so excited they wouldn't be still for an instant!
Week 7
They are big puppies now and eat 3 meals a day; going outside after every meal and learning to come when I call "puppy puppy"
Week 8
Puppies all did a great job on the trip to the ophthalmologist. There were no accidents in the car and no one got car sick! All the puppies were graded as having mild collie eye anomoly. Next week the two rough puppies leave for thier new homes. We will miss them, but know they will be well loved. The two smooth girls are staying here for the time being. It is too cold for little Artemis to fly to Florida. Iris will be staying here for the time being. Aphrodite would not stay still for a photo at the vet clinic....that is for those few minutes when the techs set her down. The vet clinic is a great place for puppy socializing!
